What is CraftHounds?

CraftHounds offers the best selection of craft beer in all of San Diego – delivered right to your door. We’re an online marketplace that makes discovery easy. We’re powered by the local bottle shops and breweries you know and love, and bring their selection right to you.

Is beer more expensive through CraftHounds?

No markups here! Our goal is to help you find the best deal. Each store lists their own prices, and we believe in a transparent marketplace where you can compare prices for the same beer across the city.

Unlike other alcohol delivery services, we’re focused on doing one thing only and doing it right – empowering the San Diego craft beer community. Because our mission is discovery, we work with the best merchants in town and don’t only limit you to the selection of the store that’s closest to you. Our transparent pricing shows the best deals, and the most cost-effective way to get your brews delivered.

How does CraftHounds work?

Explore the inventories of the best bottle shops and breweries in San Diego. Discover thousands of different beers in one place, and find compare prices across stores. Our transparent pricing will show you the most cost effective choice to have it delivered.

Place your order and the shop will prepare your order. At the same time, one of our drivers will head over and pick it up to get it to you within about 60 minutes.

We work closely with our partners to keep inventories up to date, but sometimes someone in the store beats you to that last bottle. If an item is out of stock, we’ll contact you directly with some recommendations.

What if you don’t have a beer that I’m looking for?

Let us know if you don’t see a particular product you are looking for by emailing us at We work closely with our merchants, and are always looking for ways to let them know what beers they should stock.

Is there a delivery fee?

Delivery fees are variable based on how far away you are from the store. We believe customers have the right to know what their products cost in-store and to deliver. At CraftHounds we reveal our true costs, and allow you to support your favorite local stores by giving you the choice of which store to order from. We’ll also feature the most cost effective option to get it delivered quickest.

What cities does CraftHounds operate in?

What are your hours?

Our hours are dependent on our partner stores. We are available to deliver to you between the following hours:

Mon-Wed: 4pm-11p

Thurs: 3pm-11pm

Fri – Sun: 11a-11p

*You can still place an order outside of these hours, though you will need to schedule your delivery to be within these times.


How do I change an address of an order I just placed?

If you need to change the address of an active order, send us an email to within 10 minutes of placing your order.

How long will my order take?

Most orders will be delivered within an hour, depending on traffic. Deliveries typically arrive in about 60 minutes.

Can I schedule my order?

I forgot my password! How do I order?

It’s all good! Just follow these steps:

  1. Click on ‘Login’ at the top and enter your e-mail address.
  2. Click on ‘Forgot Password’.
  3. We’ll send you a link to reset your password.

What are your accepted methods of payment?

We accept all major cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, Discover, and Diners Club.

Currently, we only accept credit cards associated to US zip codes.

How do you make sure customers are over 21?

Every CraftHounds driver is TIPS certified, and required to go through an in-depth ID verification training. Your ID will be verified by a qualified CraftHounds driver to verify age and identity prior to delivering your order.

Drivers are only able to deliver orders to the customer who placed the order. If you are ordering a gift for someone, their name must be in the “Deliver To” field on the order. Friends and relatives cannot accept orders for you.

Are ID’s required to receive a delivery?

Absolutely. Drivers will ask for an ID and check the customer’s identification. You may also be asked to produce the credit card used to make the purchase.

How are drivers chosen?

In order to drive with CraftHounds, every applicant is personally interviewed and must pass an extensive background check. They are then trained and TIPS Certified to make sure you receive the best experience possible.

What if I’m not there when the driver arrives?

We try to give you sufficient advanced notification so this doesn’t happen. We also give our customers a 5-minute waiting period from the first attempted delivery. After that, our driver will have to leave, and you’ll be issued a refund for the product total. We’ll also have to charge you a $25 restocking fee, in addition to the original delivery and convenience fees to cover the driver’s time and gas.

Do you deliver to offices or hotels?

Of course! We will deliver to your building, but you may need to meet your driver in the lobby.

Can I tip the driver?

You’re more than welcome to tip the driver if you think they did a good job, but you’re not required to. They’ll certainly appreciate it though!
